You just have to wait a week or so after putting on the last coat of rattle can color before spraying the clear. Also automotive paint stores sells clear coat in an areasol can. Clean shelf (scrub it down with soap and water) sand it down with 120 then 220 grit paper.

Fuel proof clear coat over krylon. Krylon also makes a clear coat that is fuel proof. Subsequently, i also found out that duplicolor is not fuel resistant.

Paint a scrap piece of what ever. I used eastwoods chassis coat on everything else, just want to paint my intake/valve covers and have them last. Works very well and applied nicely.

I wouldn't trust the duplicolor stuff to be gas resistant. I bought some, and i just put on my last coat of paint, and i'll shoot it with some clear tomorrow. Wipe the gas tank with wax and grease remover and a towel to clean any wax residue or grease from fingerprints off of the gas tank.

Further Testing Showed The First 4 Paints Would Be Fuel Resistant In All Other Instances, But The Krylon And Color Place Got Progressively Worse.

The krylon and color place paints wiped off on the rag when initially exposed to fuel. I have used several different clears over it w/o any problems. I'll let you know if the gas makes it peal or not.
